Little Recap Of The Socialite Runway Show / The African Queen Attire(photos)

Gist I promised on the fashion show I attended some days. WARNING: This might be a long read.
So prior to the fashion show, my friend(forshion) who was amongst the fashion designers showcasing at the socialite runway show ( oh that was the name of the show, I guess)  told me about her plans for the show, her sketches and how many female outfits and male outfits she wanted to show case. I was really excited for her as I have been pleading with her to take her cloth making to the next level seeing how good she is.  Forshion starting making her outfits for the show mid-June; it wasn’t an easy one for her I must say as she had to meet up with the July 18th deadline which was the day for her outfit photo shoot for the fashion magazine.

I remember one time I went to pay her a visit, she looked really worn-out sipping on some energy drink, she had lost weight and the first thing she told me was, “Cedar I’m tired” and told me of how some designs she had sewn didn’t come out as sketched; so I gave her some words of encourage ( like what are friends for  lol ) and I asked to see the outfit and to my surprise it wasn’t bad at all( you know na, as I am madam ‘see beauty in everything’ lol)  no but seriously its wasn’t bad but I guess it’s obviously the person who makes the cloth that knows where the flaws are and all. Well since she didn’t like that outfit we decided to try out another design without a sketch whatsoever on a mannequin and that was it, it turned out to be the best design amongst her collection. The pleating on the maxi skirt was something we had never seen before and how it came about we don’t even know but we sha proceeded with it and further named it the umbrella pleat skirt. So you see, every disappointment is a blessing yo!

Fast forward to the fashion show in which I had to walk the runway in one of her design. Mehn you models are trying oh, It is not easy oo. I was so tensed. I was this close to quitting when it was my turn to walk the runway. I kept telling her “I can’t do this”. My heart was beating so fast plus the crowd on my left and right were so much I couldn’t deal. I just kept praying I don’t fall because eh, in this era, the next you know you done turn meme. But I did my best, walk and strike a pose and walked again. Do you know I even got questions from people asking how long I’ve been modelling and walking the run saying how professional I looked and all, ah I told them oo, I never waka runway before na my first time be this lol, they were in awe. But in general it was a nice experience, I got to meet new peeps and connected with a few models who came to also walk the run way for forshion design and other designers.
The show was an interactive and creative one, to tell you the truth I never thought Warri had this much talent. The show was pack really inspiring designers, from designers like Victor of Vicnate design who is a 13 year old designer, he has been sewing since he was 9 years old (wow, what was I doing when I was 9years, I can’t even remember lol) and every fashion show in warri always want him showcasing at their event; to Niahs Stitches a well-known designer in warri who I got chatting with and he explain that his collection is mostly infused with unisex apparels with simple yet modish designs. Also had Josy Vasachy who showcase more of corporate men’s suit and female casual apparels. And many other designers.
But the forshion brand still stood out really unique, the amount of compliments from people at the show told me this.  Hardwork really pays.
Well, feed your eyes with the some photos from the event, but first, some photos of one of the outfit I wore for the photo-shoot and also the runway.
